I am a combinatorialist. More specifically, I work on enumerative / algebraic combinatorics, and on graph theory. My past work includes combinatorial theory on lattice paths, multi-variable analogues of Catalan and Schr\"{o}der numbers and their more generalized theories. In addition, I lectured on extremal combinatorics and algebraic / probabilistic methods (at Tokyo Institute of Technology, fall 05 - spring 06). Currently, I am interested in looking for a systematic method of applying probability theory to the domain that I am familiar with. The probabilistic method (in combinatorics) was invented by Erd\H{o}s and later heavily developed by Alon, Graham, Spencer, etc. I wish to contribute my own elements of somewhat different flavor.

The combinatorics that I work on is in pure mathematics. It is broadly believed that further development of combinatorial theory will have deep impacts onto the other domains of mathematics. Despite the fact that our results and methodologies may be readily utilized in the industry, it's not yet my primary concern to develop applications (at least not for the moment being).
