SMS offers the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the following five sub-disciplines of mathematics:Pure Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Computational Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics. It normally takes 5 years for a bachelor to obtain a PhD degree. For students who have already had a degree of MS, the expected duration is 3 or 4 years.

SMS also offers the degree of Master of Science in the following six sub-disciplines of mathematics:Pure Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Computational Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Financial Mathematics and Applied Statistics. The MS program normally takes 3 years. However,Financial Mathematics and Applied Statistics are two-year programs oriented for professional demands.

Currently, there are 502 graduate students in total in SMS, including 265 doctoral students and 237 students pursuing a master degree. The table below shows the number of students registered in the graduate program during 2012-2016.
